4月11日 Download.com hosts STM Style 0wnagehttp://www.download.com/Block-Checker-0wner/3000-8022_4-10516843.html?tag=lst-0-1
That's right, it's a link to a page on Download.com. This particular page is where you'll find my Block Checker 0wner kit - the one I spoke of earlier in this blog. I'm honoured that they feel it is worthy of their hostage, and encouraged by the 229 people (at the time of writing) that have already downloaded it. Now it's even easier to kick Block Checker's little red stick-man arse.

We've all heard you an use MSN Messenger on your mobile phone. But it's either too expensive or doesn't work.
Mobispine is a different Instant Messenger, designed for mobile phones. It uses optimised sockets rather than HTTP to connect, which means you pay much less for use. Why? Well simply because optimised sockets compress the data, and so only use 1/5th of the data transfer that other mobile instant messengers use.
Your telephone network probably charges you for the amount of data that is sent to and from your moble phone when your using the internet, not how long you're "on" the internet. That means you could be signed into Mobispine for the whole day and provided you don't talk to anyone, you'll hardly pay a penny. Other instant messaging apps differ...
So now you're thinking... I text at 3456 "lol"s per minute already, why do I need a new piece of software exactly?
Texts cost money. Mobispine is free. You only pay for the data transfer see, and one text message is hardly anything in data terms. I mean, if you spend 10p per text and sent 50 in a day, that's cost you £5! With mobispine you'd pay like £1 tops. Wait, before you waste any more of my time, what's the catch?
Well... they claim that there is no catch. And it does seem that way, but the big fat stinking catch is that anyone you wanna talk to needs to have mobispine also. It won't talk to MSN. Which isn't so bad, as it encourages more people to take this up. All you gotta do is find one other person to get it. It's free. Free to download, free to use. How do they make it free then? Are they retarded? Simple. They're a big Swedish company that maks stuff for other big companies. They, like Lavasoft (also Swedish makers of the respected, and also free program, Ad-Aware) provide home users with free software to raise their profile. Give them name. I mean, I wouldn't know about Ad-Aware if they didn't offer a free version for home use. And I'd definately buy it for my business, based on the performance of the home version.
So ok... I'm interested now... tell me more please
There's some great extra functionality, such as sending voice clips, just like in MSN, only better cuz you're using a phone and sending pictures that you take on demand with your phone's camera if it has one. Chat history... it's basically pretty sweet software.
Right, shuttupp now, I want it, GIMME http://www.mobispine.com/ I knew you'd come around. Their websitecan take it from here, it's a doddle to install and get an account. If you sign up, comment with your username if you like! I'll add you and we can discuss how much I 0wn. Disclaimer: Mr Mighty is yet to get round to finding out if this thing is really as cheap as it's meant to be, but he's gonna post more info as he gets it. At the moment I'm taking Mobispine.com's word for it. Oh and that of getjar.com and some people that posted good feedback on there about it. 1月23日 Why YOU should get yourself a FREEEEEEE ShinyStat CounterAs you can see, below my logo is now a ShinyStat counter. I got it because I saw one on http://spaces.msn.com/members/my-ee-space/ and clicked it in a random spasm of enthusiasm for free blog related internet tools. I'm really rather pleased with it.
Anyway...
ShinyStat is more than just a hit counter.
ShinyStat is cool because it allows you to sign into your account on the ShinyStat website and view detailed information about your page views. It shows you all kinds of clever looking charts and things.
The really cool bit is where you can see what Operating Systems (Windows 98, Windows Xp, Linux, Whateveris, Stuffaris 2056...), what browsers (Internet Explorer 6, Opera, Safari, MonkeyTree, Netscoop Navigamator, Newzilla FadFox...) and errrr well screen resolutions don't seem to work at the moment, either that or one Italian word is worth several English one's; and given the speed at which Italians speak, and the intellect of the average pizza delivererer, I doubt that is true.
There are several layouts, contents and colours to choose from for the counter on your Space (or other, lower quality, generic blog), so it's easy to make it blend in with your colour scheme or whatever. It's important to remember that if you do get one FOR FREE, you'll want to put it into a Custom HTML Module or SandBox or whatever they're calling them these days. If you don't have one yet, or you're thinking "this dude sucks, I don't know wtf that is..." then no worries. I have a blog entry that describes the simple enjoyable proceddure of adding a much sort after Custom HTML Module to your space, that you can find >>HERE<<. Also, they tell you on the ShinyStat website. But I'm better. Since I've basically ended the Search Log project (it has served it's purposes fully and exceptionally, and I get too many search reffered hits to do it now) this new way of spying on you people is a welcome addition to my arsenal of... generic stuffy thingies. Oh wait, nearly forgot. The website is http://www.shinystat.com/ |
